Dear Fred
We received your kind letter and was glad to see you had gone on your holiday we hope you will have fine weather it has been a very stormy week here. I am glad to say we are as well as can be expected. We have had several letters, one from David’s wife at Barry, and we had a letter from Fitzey and strange to say there was a guard from Bournemouth in the next Bed to poor Frank, his wife lives next door to Harry’s wife and when he was writing home to his wife Frank asked him to send his love to his wife in his letter but the poor fellow died a week after poor Frank. His name was Vivian.
Dear Fred how long are you going to stay, the Isle of Wight is very pretty. I have and we had a letter this morning from your cousin Edith she is come to live at Mells now she said that a young man from Mells wrote home to his father from Bloemfontein and said that Frank had died there and that he was with him just before he died he was in the guards with Frank at Wellington Barracks but went out with the Reserved I expect. It is Mr Smith’s son been told.
I hope this will find you and Susie and Violet, quite well and that the change will do you all good. no doubt Baby is allright with Grandma.
